First post! Welcome to my blog!

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Hello, friends. Welcome to my personal blog!

Since the birth of my 3rd daughter, I've been spending a lot of time at home (withering away). I’ve been thinking about how I can use this time at home to tap into my creative side and connect with others in a faith-centered way, and this was one of my ideas.

Fun fact (not that fun): This isn't my first blog.

In high school, despite trying to be a little hipster, a friend convinced me to join them on Tumblr. Alas, I maintained some hipster-ness, for while most people would primarily use Tumblr to repost funny things or brood about their teachers and parents, I used it to relate my endeavors with video games, anime, or sports to my Christian walk. Whenever I felt inspired, I’d try to write something out.

With my Tumblr, I kept it very private. Only a select few friends knew about it, and I mostly wrote my thoughts out for my own benefit and enjoyment.

With this blog, my hope is simple: to encourage other Christians through honest reflections and shared stories of how God is at work. So, to you, the reader: Thanks for reading this far! I hope you continue reading and that you find this encouraging.

I'll end with this: I used to go to youth group in middle and high school, and at the beginning of every night, we would have 2 ice breaker questions. The first would be something silly like "Would you rather wear a suit for the rest of your life, or eat a cockroach?" or "What's a genetic advantage or disadvantage you have?"

The second question would always be "How has God been working in your life?" My youth pastor would explain that we believe that God is always working, so we should be thoughtful about how he has been working in our own lives. Then he would give thanks to God for those ways. Sharing is also a good way to ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER AND BUILD ONE ANOTHER UP.

Just as Paul reminds the Thessalonian church to encourage and edify one another to be ready for Jesus' return, let's do the same!

So with that said, how has God been working in your life? In the future, I'd like to have some guest posts, so let me know if you have something encouraging to share!

  1. I read your blog! Hmm…I think God has been telling me to do something about the homeless people who live near me that I see almost every time I walk my dog. I used to buy someone a meal here and there or get to know them. I got exasperated seeing homeless people all the time. There’s so many! And it feels hopeless because even though I feed them a meal today, they’re still homelesss and need a meal tomorrow. So it’s a never ending cycle of just feeding them. Sometimes I point them to a resource, but they don’t pursue it. Sometimes they’re mentally ill and can’t even participate in conversation. Recently I’ve been asked for money so they can buy drugs. Luckily, i don’t carry cash. I guess I’ll start by saying hello again and praying for them. Hmm….

    1. And by the way, for a whole year, I fasted 2 meals per week and would buy a meal for a homeless person or someone in need. I got to know 1 homeless person. The rest I saw just once and then never again. And that was kinda it. The Person I got to know is still homeless. After a year, I felt like nothing much was happening…so I stopped the practice :(.

    2. Thanks for being my first comment! We pray for God to continue to give us a heart for the homeless as well as wisdom in how to best care for them. We pray for their physical and spiritual health.
